TWO ANGER IMPULSE CONTROL PROGRAMS

Anger Impulse Control- Research Based Tools

This treatment program offers the practical, simple tools and skills that work because they are based on the latest research in dealing with impulses. The materials incorporate empirically based data from studies by anger experts such as Redford Williams (Duke University), Dolf Zillman (University of Alabama), “Emotional Intelligence” compiler and author Daniel Goleman, Diane Tice (Case Western Reserve University) and others.

In addition to the new strategies and techniques that are learned in the “therapeutic tasks” the client will also receive carefully monitored integration of each new capacity. This monitoring takes place in each ½ hour follow-up telephone session. You will work one-to-one with a therapist who, like a trainer, will bring both accountability and assistance in their implementation.

Anger Control Fundamentals

This program is designed for persons who have displayed anger that has erupted out of control at times. These persons have trouble with managing their negative emotions. The consequences are many and include acting out behavior that damages relationships and sabotages their own advancement. Their reactive anger makes them seem hostile, abusive or lacking in empathy, as their own rights appear more important than others. Others may feel intimidation as they sense that underlying anger or a boiling resentment is present. The angry person is emotionally demanding, using threats or sarcasm or blame at times. His one-way statements establish a pattern of fear and lack of closeness in his relationships.

Aggressive Anger Containment

This program is designed specifically for the person whose anger has resulted in such assaultive acts as: domestic violence, public altercations, self-destructive violence, and other similiar acts of abusive behavior. This person has the potential for explosive rage that is dangerous and can spiral out of control, and needs to learn and practice anger containment control mechanisms.
