DR. RON SHACKELFORD
Dr. Ron Shackelford is a Certified Sex Offender Treatment Specialist (CSOTS) and Certified Addiction Therapist (CSAT). He received personal training from Forensic Training Institute and Dr. Patrick Carnes, nationally known sex treatment researcher and clinician. He is an experienced California licensed psychotherapist who has treated sexual compulsivity and anger management behaviors for many years. All therapists within the program are selected, trained and supervised by Dr. Shackelford.
Dr. Shackelford is a clinical member of the International Institute of Trauma and Addiction Professionals, and the Society for the Advancement of Sexual Health. He is also a clinical member of the American Association for Marriage and Family Therapy, and the California Association of Marriage and Family Therapists.
He is a member in the American Association of Christian Counselors, and credentialed in the Counselors Network of New Life Ministries.
He trained therapists as a nation-wide lecturer on the topic of "Developing Emotional Intelligence" for Cross Country University.
Dr. Shackelford has worked with offenders in various settings from clinical to legal/institutional. He has served in three residential institutional settings as an inpatient therapist. He worked for several years at a half-way house for felons transitioning back into society, where he taught various skills. Those skills included conflict resolution, interaction strategies in job interviewing, assertiveness training and others.
