FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

What about clients without computer access, or to whom access is a possible trigger for problem behavior?

These clients can receive and send their therapeutic home assignments by regular mail. All that is required is access to a phone for the 1/2 hour followup therapy session.

Can a client continue his established relationship with his therapist past the structured sessions?

YES. This would be based on mutual agreement between both parties.

Can this system be used with a person on parole under GPS monitoring, or a person in prison?

Yes on both counts. These persons subject to impulse can now receive regular monitoring of their impulse control status, individual attention to their particular adjustment needs, and personal encouragement without venturing outside of home. This makes for more effective containment.

Persons in prison can learn invaluable communication skills, self-presentation tactics for jobs, assertiveness training, problem-solving techniques, and conflict resolution skills. All of these will help them find jobs and stay out of prison. These persons can make arrangements with prison authorities for computer or telephone use, or can simply use mail. Several personal skill and effective communication programs are available, as well as self-esteem, motivation, and healthy living/spiriuality programs. These programs help to lower recidivism, and turn "doing time" into skill-learning rehabilitation.
