WHO IS THE PROGRAM DESIGNED FOR?
Sex offenders and others with compulsive behavior that has created a legal or social problem. Both Adult and Juvenile Programs are available. The three Adult Programs are designed for three types of offenders:
| Program 1 | First-time offenders with low harm behavior |
| Program 2 | Chronic offenders with non-hands on behavior |
| Program 3 | Perpetrators of assaultive, hands on offenses (see also Anger Control Programs) |
Three Adult Treatment Programs
- The Problematic Behaviors Program treats first time offenders whose activity might be labeled “lewd or lascivious conduct”. This conduct includes non-hands on behavior such as peeping, stalking and compulsive masturbation in public. This program is geared for any inappropriate, first–time public behavior that is problematic and holds the potential for developing into more chronic forms of compulsive sexual behavior (CSB) addressed in program 2. The treatment program provides 8 sessions with 24 cognitive-behavioral tools, exercises and strategies along with alternating one-to-one telephone therapy sessions. Treatment topics include: Dealing with Denial, The Arousal Cycle and Understanding Yours, Controlling Sexual Thoughts, Managing Emotional Impulses, Self-image, Healthy Sexuality and Relationship Skills, Setting Internet Boundaries, Relapse Prevention.
Note: see below the two Juvenile Programs geared for similar types of youth behavior.
- The Compulsive Sexual Behaviors Program is for repeat offenders and chronic sexual behaviors. Non-hands on behaviors include public exposing (exhibitionism), soliciting sex with minor, inappropriate public activity (e.g. frotteurism- touching), sexually explicit language (obscene calls/online messages), gay hypersexuality (compulsive cruising), and soliciting sex with prostitute. Empirically-based, the nine sessions provide more than 27 practical tools, experiential exercises, and proven strategies.
Note: 25% of exhibitionists commit additional sex offenses.
- The Assaultive Sexual Behavior Program is for aggressive sexual behavior including domestic violence, rape and other various forms of sexual assault. Perpetrators sessions cover such issues as Denial, Eroticized Rage, Impulse Control, Developing Empathy, Hypermasculinity, Self-image, Power Boundaries, Trauma Recovery, Relapse Prevention, Spirituality, and others.
Juvenile Treatment Programs
All of these programs are written to hold particular appeal to adolescent males. Their design and content are intentionally prepared with this in mind.
1. The Impulsive Sexual Activity Program is geared for first offense youth. It deals with voyeuristic-type activity of adolescent males. Behaviors considered here are impulsive and problematic but not chronically compulsive. Participants receive over 21 tools, strategies and competencies to deal with sexual impulsivity. This program offers two choices:
- Basic Juvenile Essentials Program
- Sessions 1-4 comprise the elementary program dealing with: Denial: What is Normal vs. Abnormal, The Arousal Cycle & Understanding Yours, Controlling Sexual Thoughts and Fantasies, and Managing Emotional Impulses.
- Impulsive Activity Program
- This is the complete program of all sessions (1-8) that in addition includes Internet Boundaries, Male Self-image and Sex, Relationship Building Skills and Healthy Sexuality. Both of these programs are specially written and designed to be relevant to youth.

2. The Compulsive Acting Out Program is specially designed for the repeat offender who exhibits chronic Compulsive Sexual Behavior (CSB) requiring prompt, expert intervention. Activity includes public behaviors like exposing, soliciting, lewdness, and other CSB.
